Sichem chemically hardened is used if the mechanical strength of glass needs to be considerably increased for the planned application. In this case, hardening is carried out by ion exchange, which produces a glass which is five times stronger than untreated glass.
In addition, depending on the thickness of the glass, resistance to temperature fluctuations is considerably increased, which makes Sichem highly suitable for applications where the material is subject to large temperature fluctuations. A further advantage of Sichem is the planity of the material, which is completely retained after chemical hardening.
